摘要：A pour spout device adapted to be positioned over an opening in the end wallof a container having at least one end wall and a side wall. The opening has two ends, afirst end adjacent the juncture of the end wall and the side wall, and a second end spacedinwardly from the juncture of the end wall and the side wall. The device includes a tubularbody having an upper end and a lower end. A vent tube having an upper end and a lowerend extends the length of the tubular body and is attached to and eccentricallypositioned within the tubular body so as to be toward the second end of the opening inthe end wall of the container when the device is in use. A plate is attached to the lowerend of the tubular body and has an opening therein in alignment with and coextensivewith the inside of the tubular body. The plate has a first end adapted to be positionedgenerally over the first end of the opening and a second end adapted to be positionedgenerally over the second end of the opening. A pad of resilient material is attached tothe surface of the plate opposite the tubular body and has an opening therein in
alignment with and coextensive with the inside of the tubular body. The pad is adapted tosealigngly engage the surface of the end wall of the container around the openingtherein. A hook shaped lever arm swings out from a first end positioned below the pad ofresilient material and then upwardly to a second end at a position spaced from the plate
and below the plane of the plate. Means are provided for attaching the first end of thelever arm to the plate towards the second end thereof so that the lever arm may be slidthrough the opening. The second end of the lever arm would then be positioned belowand bearing against the end wall so as to compress the pad into sealing position whenthe plane of the plate is parallel to the plane of the end wall. Means are also providedfor compressing the pad below the first end of the plate into sealing position on the endwall of the container to complete the seal.
