Reading

教材分析:本书按照“话题—功能---结构---任务” 相结合的思想编排,以话题为主线任务为主导,辅以功能和结构项目。7A是从最基础的知识开始学习的。其中Unit1 This is me 的中心话题是见面打招呼介绍自己和介绍别人,学生对自己是非常熟悉的,对新朋友又是很感兴趣的。见于初一学生很乐于表现自己,展示自己,教学中我多让学生交流展示。以此达到对口语和听力的训练。

I.Aims and Demands :

1. To understand the main information given in six profiles; 2. To recognize the use of language in giving personal information; 3. To use personal pronouns.

II.Main and difficult points:

1. To identify with the six friends by reading their profiles; 2. To learn some useful expressions.

Ⅲ. Teaching Procedures

Step 1 Revisions

1. Let students act out the dialogue. (Ask two pairs of students to come to the blackboard and act out the dialogue.)

2. Revise how to greet your friends at different time. (Show some pictures and let them greet to their neighbors with the correct greetings.)

Step 2 Presentation

1. T: Today we’ll learn reading ____Welcome to Beijing Sunshine School. In this part, we’ll learn how to introduce others.

First, I’ll introduce three of my friends to you .I’ll show you their pictures one by one.

T: If you want to make friends with them, you should know more about them. Now please open your books and turn to page8 .Let’s meet them one by one. Please read the paragraph about Mille after the recorder. After that, answer the questions on the screen. (1).Let’s meet Mille together. T: How old is Mille? S: 12 years old.

T: Which Grade/Class is she in? S: She is in Grade7 Class1. T: What is her hobby? S: Reading.

(2).Let’s meet Simon together. T: Where was he born? S: He was born in Shanghai. T: What does he like doing? S: He likes playing football. (3).Let’s meet Sandy together. T: Is she tall and slim? S: Yes, she is.

Step 3 Present and practice

1. Do exerciseB1 on page9 in their books.Then check their answers.

2. Now read by yourselves and complete ˋTrueˊor ˋFalseˊ exercises. If the sentence is true, write a ˋTˊ; if the sentence is false, write an ˋFˊ. I’ll ask pairs of you to do the exercises, one asks and the other answers. If the sentence is false, please correct it.

1. Let students answer the questions freely.

You have known them. Who would you like to make friends with? Why? e.g. I like Millie, because I also like reading.

2. Now I’ll ask some of you to introduce yourselves to your classmates. Prepare for it. Then I’ll ask some of you to introduce your classmates. (1). Self-introduction: Name: Age: Address: Figure: Hobby:

(2). Introduce your classmates:

Don’t tell us her/his name. After you introduce them, let’s guess who she/he is.

e.g. He is a student in our class. He is fourteen years old. He wears glasses. He is very tall. And he is good at English. Please guess who he is.

Ⅳ. Homework.

1. Remember the new words and phrases after class. 2. Write a passage about your friends. 3. Do the connected exercises.

In this lesson, we’ve read the profiles of the six students and from them we can learn lots of phrases to provide personal information. Students learn to try to use them to describe some people including themselves.But some of students can’t use the words and phrases that they’ve learned well.

The teacher also should ask students to look for more words and expressions to describe persons.
