本人从事HR工作,之前对招聘工作有所接触,目前不负责招聘。

我有过面试别人的经验,同样,也有被别人面试的经历。现在一家500强美国公司工作,其间接到不少猎头推荐去欧美公司面试的通知,也去见了一些。这个不是我要讲的重点,我只想和大家分享一点关于去外企面试如何应对英语测试的部分,希望对一些朋友有帮助。

所谓的外资公司,一般说,我分它们几类: 500强的欧美公司 500强其他国家公司 500强以外的欧美公司 500强以外的其他国家公司 假外资公司

关于假外资公司,我想说的是,那些台资、港资,甚至贴牌骗人的外资。和本来就是中国的,外什么外?加上它们的文化实在不可恭维,所以我是不理这些公司的。

就英文测试来说,500强欧美公司和500强以外的欧美公司最看重,毕竟工作中要用到,有一些还是工作语言,不测试不行。500强内外的其他国家公司,很多时候对英语也有要求,象日本、韩国的公司,只不过日本人和韩国人的英语口语,实在比较寒。

好了,说清楚了我去面试的企业,如果有朋友希望进入这些公司的,对方又有英语要求,可以参考一下我的一些经历和体会。不见得全面,不过也是实际经验,还有教训。

二、口语测试

口语测试都是老套路,不管是用人单位还是猎头,问你的都是常规问题,比如自我介绍,比如个性,比如职业规划,比如你的收获和体会。很多人可能会对口语测试紧张,不知道说什么,其实就象中文面试一样,你只要事先做个准备就好了。

比如自我介绍,这个是基本都会问的,但是也不要随便回答。自己事先写好,背熟,面试时候自然一点流利地讲出来,至少可以留下一半的好印象。

对于平时不用英语的人来说,如果有机会去外企面试,至少前一天要把自己的英文简历阅读几遍,找找感觉,象自我介绍这样的准备材料,也要熟读。不然真正面试的时候,一张嘴结结巴巴,单词发音也不准,句子也不连贯,那就功亏一篑了。

这里想说的是,除非你应聘翻译,或者一些中高层职位需要和外国人做工作交流的,一般的英语口语测试都很容易通过,不用紧张。不过HR都不喜欢这样的人:简历上写的是“英语听说读写流利”,结果面试的时候结结巴巴说不出来的。还有一些人一个劲强调,自己大学英语很不错,就是工作了没机会接触,现在生疏了,只有给自己一段时间,英语一定

没问题。

与其说这些话的,早干什么了?早做准备,面试的时候才会一鼓作气、一气呵成,求职应聘好公司好职位的人多了,凭什么就给你锻炼的机会呢?

所以,不要奢望狗屎运经常会降临,要真想实现自己的目标,必要的付出还是要做的。英语口语,不是非要参加什么培训班或者背诵多少新概念才行,要应付外企的面试,可以去开口网多练习,其实也足够了。

另外有一个快速提高面试口语的办法,就是请留意那些外企招聘广告里,关于该职位的英语描述和任职资格要求。

这些也就是所谓很多人头疼和陌生的专业词汇,你只要多收集几家就会发现,大同小异,个别词换种表达,内容都差不多。你的英文简历也可以参照这个要求去写,把相关经验和工作业绩补充进去就很完美了,面试时候再按照这个说出来,把握更大。

基本上,外资公司在招聘广告里,用中文刊登的职位对英语要求都不高,反之则需要英语水平稍高。对于那些自己感兴趣的公司和职位,多收集一些英文的招聘要求,对提高应聘英语水平帮助很大。

面试英语常规问题:

1、Who do you work for at present? 你现在在哪里工作?

2、Could you tell me about your work experience? 你能否向我说说你的工作经历?

3、Have you ever worked in XXX? 你在XX行业工作过么?

4、Do you have any experience of working as a department manager? 你有没有做过部门经理?

5、Would you please say something about your career experience? 你可以说说你的工作经历吗?

6、What is your chief responsibility working as a XXX in the XX department? 你在XX部门做XX职位的时候,主要的工作职责是什么?

7、Have you had any experince working abroad?

你有在国外工作的经历吗?

8、What exactly did you do when you worked as a XX for XX Co.?

你在XX公司做XX职位的时候,工作究竟是怎样做的呢?

一些挑战性强一点的题目:

1、Could you tell me why you want to leave your present job?

你能否告诉我你为什么要离开现在的职位吗?

2、I wonder if you could tell me why you decided to work for XXX? 你是不是可以告诉我你为什么决定来XXX工作?

3、Would you mind telling me why you think you are not suitable for XXX? 你介不介意告诉我,你为什么认为自己不适合在XXX工作?

4、What major problem have you encountered and how did you deal with it? 你曾经遇到过哪些棘手的问题?你是如何处理的?

5、What have you learned from your mistakes? 你从所犯的错误中学到了什么?

想说明一下的是,这些词汇,不是单独使用或者起作用的,肯定要在具体的职位和句子中间去应运,去理解。背单词很枯燥,但是你在明白这些单词的时候再看英文的招聘信息,是不是很容易理解了呢?而且,外企面试和做管理工作的时候,也差不多就是这些英语词汇,你就算都背不下来,至少见过、读过,在面试的时候,听力也会好很多。

有一些单词,我们背诵过,但是不去用,当别人说出来的时候我们会楞住,反应不过来。其实很简单的词汇,也是你学过、见过的,但是不习惯听到,不习惯说,这个也是一些人面试口语的失败所在。

读过这些单词,面试时听见主考口中冒出这个单词,也至少可以猜出他大概问的什么意思,回答的时候也不用一个劲儿要求对方重复。

Why did you leave your former company?

为什么离开以前的公司?

外企应聘如何准备自己的RESUME (ZZ)

一份出色的Resume,是向外企求职的关键之一。不了解有关的常识和程式,不花费相当的心思来展示,以有纯正娴熟的英文功底,决不能获得单位的青睐。在一大堆错误百出、英文表达能力低劣或平庸,毫无针对性和创造性的Resume中,你的那份若能让人眼睛一亮,成功的机会必将大大增加,以下试着结合一个具体的例子给出说明和评述。

一、读懂招聘广告要求

基本方法选取适当的工作后,必须看清招聘广告上所列出的每项要求,再将自己的学历、能力与兴趣逐一与之比较,作一张balance sheet. 例如,一则关于marketing management trainee和job requirement 是这样写的:

We are looking for a competent person to fill the captioned position: University graduate majors in Marketing Management. Prepared to develop career in the commercial field

-outgoing personality

-Able to communicate with different levels

-Good knowledge in PC operations -Proficiency in written and spoken

English/Mandarin

则你相应地考虑自己的qualification的选择和表述,如你可写(与上列各项对应):

-University graduate with major in Marketing

-Having actively participated in Business club‘s activities and learned accounting and management

-Good in communication with people and like a lot of out door activities know how to tackle with people from all walks of life -Skillful in operating Words,Excel,Lotus1-2-3,etc

-Fluent in English and studied advanced level of Mandarin

这个方法的好处是可让求职者清楚了解该职位是否适合自己,而本身资料又是否切合要求,而且,明白了各项要求后,就可依据每一点在履历表上重点提出自己在该方面的强项。突出卖点(selling point),将之放在最吸引别人的地方,使招聘者一眼可见,有利于present自己。

二、关于工作经验的陈述

工作经验是一份resume中令招聘者相当感兴趣的一项内容,善加措词是必不可忽

视的要务。刚毕业,何来工作经验?其实,客下读书时的兼职、实习、实践,以至所曾参加的一些课外活动-协助助出版学校刊物、举办活动,展览、宣传„„都可算是工作经验、不过,表达起来要有针对性地展开,列出那些与所找工作有关连的项目重点介绍,必要时更可使用summary的方式,给招聘者深入的了解。下面这份材料的相关表这实在简陋呆板:

1996/7-1996/8 General Clerk, IBM

1995/7-1995/8 Account clerks, Manley Toy Trading 1994/6-1994/8Salesgirl,Esprit.

倘能换一种表述如下,既能更好地突出个人工作经验,有能吸引招聘者的注意力:

Three years of job experience in different positions have offered me opportunities to understand different job aspects. -As a General Clerk(IBM),Accounts clerk (Manley Toy Trading),I have learned how to prepare purchasing orders, place orders, handle accounting mattery, check voucher,„„also(Salesgirl, Esprin)developing the technique of sellina, serving and stocking.

三、应聘职位

Job Objective通常,一般求者只会在履历表开端简单地写上所应征的职位-\"Position Applied: Management Trainee\"或\"I am appling for„„\"其实,若懂得利用这小小空间写出自己的事业目标(job objective),能显示出你对该工作的热诚及憧憬,能令招聘者对你加倍留意。

比如这个不错的例子job objective To begin as a Marketing Management Trainee, with opportunity to advance to executive level and contribute to the development of firm.

其实,这位外企人士所谈的关于准备RESUME的技巧,完全可以应用到中文简历上来。各位读者可以尝试一下。

如何用英语表达“相关经验”(ZZ)

-Occupational Experience Experience in auditing, cost accounting and taxation.有审计、成本会计和税务方面的经验。

-Working experience in foreign company.有在外资公司工作的经验者。

-Five years' experience in foreign trade or foreignowned venture.有5年在外贸方面或外资企业工作的经验。

-Experience working with foreign companies.有在外国公司工作的经验。

-Three years of Experience in personnel recruiting. Screening and interviewing.有3年的人员招募、选拔和面试方面的经验。

-Some experience in product distribution.略具产品销售的经验。

英语面试全攻略:口语突击法!(ZZ)

1、口语速成训练法

毕业生大都忙着找工作,不可能像以前一样拿起英语书来学习。长时间不碰英语,突然间要用时,一些词语和表达方法感觉就在嘴边却怎么也想不起来,令人心焦。对于想临时抱抱佛脚的人,建议在临近面试的几个星期内,每隔一天(如有条件,最好是每天)拿一份《中国日报》,找一篇熟悉单词最多的文章到没有人的地方大声朗诵20分钟左右。这么做有几个好处:(1)有助于回忆起部分已经学过的单词和语句,打开自己已经落了尘的记忆库。(2)在自己朗诵的同时,顺便也练习了听力,使自己置身于英语环境中。(3)增强语感。单个的词是单词,连成一段段语句就是文章了,一些语言习惯也包含在其中。多读熟读文章,关键时刻才有可能运用自如。

2、切忌偷工减料

有的北大清华学生在接受应聘外企的辅导后,就采用过这种口语速成训练法,绝大部分学生反映不错,认为很有效果。方法本身很简单,但是坚持下来却很难。有的人听的时候很明白,实际运用起来却偷工减料。让他朗读20分钟他只读5分钟;让大声朗诵却嘤嘤细语,宛若蚊蝇;说是每隔一天做一次的功课,实际上却是一个星期才想起来一回,草草了事。这样做的结果是根本就达不到训练的效果。

除此以外,你不妨在平时和几个同学结成英语会话伙伴,针对求职常用语以及日常交流话题进行练习,互相提提问题,达到彼此促进的效果。选择口语练习小组成员也很有学问。一是要找水平比较接近的,以免“不均”难以持续,人数以4—5人为宜,每次活动不用所有人都到齐,有两个人就成。可以利用吃饭的时间,这时候说话的氛围较轻松。二是要男女搭配,这样会话不累,且会话题材也会更广些。如果全是男生或全是女生,平常那点儿分享的信息早就用中文沟通无数遍了。如果有人不好意思或是觉得没有充分理由邀请异性同学入伙,就说是这本书里建议的。

另外,对于社会上常见的口语训练方法,比如听磁带、背对话等,就不一一列举了。如果时间允许,当然是越早准备、花的时间越多越好。

英语电话面试应急训练(ZZ)

很多外企在当面的面试之前会有一个电话英语面试,时间一般在20~30分钟左右,用以核实求职者的背景和英文表达力。新东方求职面试英语研究专家冯?J建议,求职者在投递简历以后要做好各种充分的准备。

准备几个基本问题

如果你提前知道了电话面试的时间,则可以在面试时把简历、coverletter放在你旁边的桌子上,直接运用里面的句子回答问题。一些基本的问题,你可以事先准备好答案。通常,在电话英语面试的时候会提道:

Please tell me something unreflected at yourC.V./about yourself/your experience/your activities.谈谈你简历中没有提及的一些事情/谈谈你自己/你的经历/你参与的活动。

听不清时怎么办

如果有话语没有听清楚,求职者不必紧张,可以镇定地请求再说一遍。可以用到的句子:

Would you please simplify the question?您能把这个问题说得简单些吗?

Would you please say iti nother words?您能用别的话来表达您的意思吗?

Would you please speak a little bit louder?I can not hear you clearly.您说话声音能大一点好吗?我听不清楚。

如何应对突袭电话面试

当你正在球场或者公交车上突然接到了面试电话,此时没有任何准备,建议你首先试探看看是否可以给你个准备时间稍后再进行电话面试。可以用到的句子:

May I call you back half an hour l ater?May I have your phone number and recall you?

如果可以赢得时间,你应该马上赶回去,摊开资料写出一个提纲,从容应答。如果对方不同意推迟时间,你应该马上找个安静的地方坐下来开始回答。

关于电话英语面试,我个人有一些经历和体会: 1、务必选择一个良好的沟通工具和环境。

如果你或者对方的电话不清楚,那么英语面试就更有挑战性,听不清楚彼此的问题,造成一些误会和遗憾,得不偿失。建议最好是座机对座机,当然,办公桌上谈面试不好,自己也该用手机,而不是小灵通之类信号很差经常掉线的工具。环境也一样,不要太嘈杂。

2、如果是觉得电话过于突然,自己没有准备好,可以礼貌地约定下一个电话面试时间,自己准备一个提纲或者英文简历,和对方电话面试时可以作为参照。切记不要象读课文,如果得到面试机会,还需要至少背熟英文简历,准备一些英文提问回答,免得电话面试口语流利,FACE TO FACE的时候漏洞百出、结结巴巴,也是浪费自己的时间。

3、电话面试一般集中在3个问题:

介绍自己、介绍工作业绩、介绍自己的职业发展规划。

可以有重点地准备这三个问题,当然,其他任何问题都有可能被问到,但是有了基本的词汇和自己对自己的了解,回答问题尽量简洁,一般也不会有大问题。

面试的英文需要运用一系列比较专业的词汇,并且善用几种时态,如说明过去的工作要用过去时,以前取得的成绩要用过去完成时等等。这里我们就讲讲什么时候该说什么。

当你走进雇主的办公室,先介绍自己,握手,微笑很重要。此后第一句话往往是打开局面的,通常面试人员会问:

How are you today?

Did you have any trouble finding us?

What do you think of the weather lately?

他们的语调可能会很友好,因为他们也希望你放松,尽量发挥你自己的水平。这时候你要有简单爽快而有礼貌的回应,如:

对方问:How are you today?

好的回答是:I'm fine thank you, and you? 或 I'm well thank you.

不好的回答是:So, so 或 OK 或Not so well

面试过程中最重要的部分是表述自己的学历,工作经验和资历。这些是和你应聘工作直接相关的。

学历方面:记住你的学历是在以前完成的,要用过去时态。例如:

I attended the University of Beijing from 1990 to 1993. I graduated with a degree in civic engineering.

如果你现在还是学生,那么应用现在时态,例如: I am currently studying at the University of York and will graduate with a degree

in Economics in the coming spring.

I am studying English at the Seneca Community College.

记得要告诉雇主,你仍然在不断改善你的英语,比如你每周还上几小时的英语课。因为英文不是你的母语,他们对此可能会有顾虑。

工作经验和资历无疑是面试中最重要的部分。所以雇主很想知道个中的许多细节。雇主想知道你到底做过什么,做得好不好。因此你不要谦虚,把最好的成绩和方面表达出来。

但谈到以前的工作时用过去时:

当谈及以前的工作成绩和表现,尽量用一些主动的,积极的,令人印象深刻的动词,比用名词或者系动词词组效果好。比如与其说My job is to assist the senior scientist with unit testing不如说I assisted the senior scientist with unit testing.与其说I was responsible for the business needs analysis不如说I analyzed the business needs.

我们来谈谈面试中最常问的题目以及如何对答为妥。

问: Tell me about yourself.

答: I was born and raised in Dalian, China. I attended the University of Beijing and received my master's degree in Economics. I have worked for 5 years as a financial consultant in Beijing for various companies including Rossi Consultants, People's Insurance of China and Pepsi. I enjoy playing soccer in my free time and traveling. 答: I've just graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Computers Science. 评语: 这个问题的目的是想大概地了解你,所以无需讲太多细节的东西。你的回答通常会帮助面试官决定下个问题问什么。除了给对方一个整体的印象,最重要的是着重讲和工作有关的经验。工作经验是大多数面试中最重要的环节,比学历更重要。

问: What type of position are you looking for?

答: I'm interested in an entry level (beginning) position.

评语:对于一个英语非母语的申请人,许多公司期望你能从低做起,慢慢弥补语言方面的不足。就算你以前很成功有多年经验,也应当有这个心理准备。

问: Are you interested in a full-time or part-time position? 答: I am more interested in a full-time position. However, I would also consider a part-time position.

评语: 尽量留最大的余地争取机会。因为只要工作拿到了,以后的事情就容易把握,主动性大多了。

问: Can you tell me about your responsibilities at your last job?

答: I advised customers on financial matters. After I consulted the customer, I completed a customer inquiry form and catalogued the information in our database. I then collaborated with colleagues to prepare the best possible package for the client. The clients were then presented with a summarized report on their financial activities that I formulated on a quarterly basis.

评语: 提到过往工作经验时,注意越详细越好。新移民最容易犯的错误之一是讲过去经历时太过笼统。雇主是想知道你到底做什么以及你做得怎么样,你讲得越详细,他们就越能知道你是否在行。你可以换着用一些不同的词汇来形容,而且尽量不要每句话都用“I”开头。记得用过去时态。

问: What is your greatest strength?

答: I work well under pressure. When there is a deadline (a time by which the work must be finished), I can focus on the task at hand (current project) and structure my work schedule well. I remember one week when I had to get 6 new customer reports out by Friday at 5. I finished all the reports ahead of time without having to work overtime.

答: I am an excellent communicator. People trust me and come to me for advice. One afternoon, my colleague was involved with a troublesome (difficult) customer who felt he was not being served well. I made the customer a cup of coffee and invited both my colleague and the client to my desk where we solved the problem together.

答: I am a trouble shooter. When there was a problem at my last job, the manager would always ask me to solve it. Last summer, the LAN server at work crashed. The manager was desperate and called me in (requested my help) to get the LAN back online. After taking a look at the daily backup, I detected the problem and the LAN was up and running (working) within the hour.

评语: 不用谦虚,充满自信地把自己最好的方面都抖出来。记得要给一些具体的例子,举例时变化用词。

问: What is your greatest weakness?

答: I am overzealous (work too hard) and become nervous when my co-workers are not pulling their weight (doing their job). However, I am aware of this problem, and before I say anything to anyone, I ask myself why the colleague is having difficulties.

答: I tend to spend too much time making sure the customer is satisified. However, I began setting time-limits for myself If I noticed this happening.

评语: 这其实是一个很巧妙的问题,你要讲得出一个其实是优点的缺点。比如工作太认真啦,对自己对人要求很高啦,工作很追求完美啦,等等。在讲到缺点后要记得说你一直在致力于改善。

问:Why do you want to work for us?

答: After following your firms progress for the last 3 years, I am convinced that Smith and Sons are becoming one of the market leaders and I would like to be part of the team.

答: I am impressed by the qualitiy of your products. I am sure that I would be a convincing salesman because I truly believe that the Atomizer is the best product on the market today.

评语: 对这个问题你要事前做研究,通过看公司网站,其他有关信息等。越了解公司,对你越有利。

问: When can you begin?

答: Immediately.

答: As soon as you would like me to begin.

评语: 充分表示你想要工作!

以上只是一些最基本的面试问答。对于英语非母语的人来说,最重要和最难的是用英语讲述大量细节,尤其是复杂的细节。然而,雇主是很有必要知道你能否把工作范畴内的细节表达清楚,这对你是否胜任至关重要。不要太过担心语法问题。只要用词够多,内容够细,只要不影响理解,语法往往不是那么重要。

关于到职时间,上文提出的回答我不是很赞同。毕竟很多公司还是要按照合同,一个月的通知期。不过也有企业愿意帮你支付违约金,这时候可以和公司详谈。
