摘要：A needle protective device is provided for reducing inadvertent needle sticks. Atubular member of the needle protective device is mounted on a needle hub and extendsabout a needle. The tubular member is selectively axially movable between a relaxedposition and a compressed position. An end cap defining a first chamber is attached to anend of the tubular member. The end cap has an opening through which a user canselectively pass the tip of the needle. In one aspect, the end cap has a locking meansconfigured such that when the end cap is in use, as described below, the locking meanspre-aligns the needle tip with the opening of the end cap to allow the needle to exit thefirst chamber through passive activation.
